Job Title: Buyer

Location: Kings Mountain, NC

Position Overview:

The Buyer supports manufacturing operations by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services. This role works closely with suppliers, materials control, and management to maintain inventory accuracy, improve supplier performance, and achieve cost-saving objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, issue, and follow up on purchase orders and order confirmations for plant supplies, capital equipment, inventory items, and consumables
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve delivery, receipt, and quality issues in a timely manner
• Maintain and manage open purchase order reports and correct purchase order variances
• Assist the Materials Control Manager with new vendor selection and vendor quality audits
• Provide daily purchasing status updates to management
• Support annual cost-savings initiatives, including stop limits and Kanban system setup
• Coordinate deliveries from other company facilities and manage international shipments

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems related to purchasing and inventory control
• Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining supplier relationships
