Job Summary
Are you the type of person who enjoys finding creative solutions to support the sourcing needs of our customers? In this role you will analyze and monitor daily material requirement planning (MRP) and other replenishment systems and partner with production control to meet production schedules, minimize costs, and reduce lead times. We’re looking for someone to uphold consistency, create understanding and consensus, and ensure Vermeer’s intellectual property rights are preserved through the procurement process.What You’ll Do
1. Analyze MRP or availability reports, review various demand requirements, and order and schedule component parts per location and product lines. Maintain late purchase order report and, if necessary, expedite to ensure parts are delivered in a timely manner.
2. Work to ensure production schedules are met, lead times are reduced, and inventory turns are increased. Respond to production schedule changes by tracking purchased parts, suggesting schedule changes to production control due to parts restrictions, and communicating gaps in delivery to appropriate personnel.
3. Manage multiple projects with engineering teams by providing technical input relative to component design, material selection, and cost improvement requirements. Process engineering change notices per new product and process development requirements.
4. Review key metrics and act accordingly to meet inventory, cost, invoice accuracy, payment terms, delivery, and quality goals.
5. Respond to customer service requests regarding pricing and availability and work with warehouse or inventory teams to review stocking levels.
