Buyer – Power Equipment

Full‑Time • Non-Exempt • Hybrid (Cypress, CA)

We are seeking a detail‑driven and solutions‑oriented Buyer to support our Power Equipment product lines through effective sourcing, procurement, and supplier management. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the timely and cost‑effective flow of materials, components, and services that support sales, production, and aftermarket parts operations.

If you thrive in a manufacturing environment, enjoy collaborating cross‑functionally, and take pride in driving strong supplier partnerships, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the supply chain.

What You'll Do

Procurement & Sourcing

  • Review material requirements and purchase requisitions (SAP, Power Apps, or manual requests) for accuracy, historical usage, and validity to determine optimal purchase quantities and vendor selection.
  • Source new and existing components to achieve the best balance of quality, cost, and lead time for both current and future needs.
  • Identify alternative components and new supplier sources for long‑lead or constrained materials to support production, service, and aftermarket teams.
  • Determine procurement method (direct buy vs. bid), prepare purchase orders and bid requests, and negotiate pricing and terms within scope of authority and budget.
  • Review bid proposals and support supplier selection based on quality, cost, delivery, and performance.
  • Execute inter‑warehouse transfers as needed to support inventory and production requirements.

Engineering & Manufacturing Support

  • Work with engineering drawings and specifications for bid submittals.
  • Release and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, change orders, and single‑level and multi‑level BOMs.
  • Support custom and job‑shop manufacturing environments.

Supplier & Quality Management

  • Qualify new suppliers and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure consistent quality and supply continuity.
  • Confer with vendors to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules, leveraging market knowledge to assess value.
  • Address defective or non‑conforming materials in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and vendors to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Expedite material deliveries to meet production and user requirements.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with manufacturing, receiving, quality, engineering, product management, sales, accounting, other buyers, and aftermarket/parts teams to ensure smooth information flow across the supply chain.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records including pricing, delivery performance, inventory levels, and supplier metrics.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of supply chain operations.
