About the Role
We’re looking for a Buyer who knows how to keep things moving. In this role, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the materials and components that keep our production lines running. That means balancing cost, quality, and timing, while building strong supplier relationships and staying ahead of potential risks.
You’ll work closely with planning, engineering, and production teams to understand demand, respond to changes, and make sure the right parts are in the right place at the right time.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES- Plan and prioritize purchasing activities based on production needs
- Create and manage purchase orders and supplier forecasts
- Track and maintain open orders until completion
- Ensure supplier acknowledgements and follow up as needed
- Expedite materials and communicate shortages internally
- Adjust orders to align with production schedules (postpone, cancel, etc.)
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Manage supplier non-conformances and participate in follow-up discussions
- Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and increase efficiency
- Collaborate across departments to keep operations running smoothly
- Follow company procedures, 5S practices, and Code of Conduct
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Solid time management and ability to juggle shifting priorities
- Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Collaborative mindset with strong business awareness
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in the EMS (electronics manufacturing services) industry
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Familiarity with electronic components such as circuit boards and processors
- Strong complex problem-solving skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical working conditions at Kitron are indoors, safe, well lit, temperature controlled, low exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors, clean and sanitary conditions with average light industrial noise. Production areas have machinery with moving parts. Static dissipative smock, and shoes are required. Offices with locking doors, meeting rooms, and common printing areas are well lit, clean, low noise, and temperature controlled with no exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors.
