Become a vital force in Firefly's groundbreaking journey to Launch, Land, and Orbit! Our Supply Chain Team is seeking sharp, energetic individuals with an unwavering eye for detail. As a Launch Support Buyer, you'll be a critical pillar of the Firefly Purchasing Team. Step up, contribute meaningfully, and shape the future with us.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Procure materials, equipment, and services needed for the daily operations and ongoing expansion of Firefly space launch facilities.
  • Negotiate and implement cost-saving programs with suppliers.
  • Issue purchase orders, ensure timely delivery and resolve invoice issues.
  • Act as primary contact between Supply Chain and Firefly Launch sites and teams.
  • Support expansion of Firefly launch operations to new sites.
  • Create and Manage supplier and supply chain SOP/Criteria for access to launch sites/bases.
  • Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis, including strategic direction, market and industry position, capabilities and capacity, and risk assessment.
  • Manage and maintain supplier relationships and monitor status of work performed.
  • Act as the Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned launch sites.
  • Oversee Supply Chain launch site requirements, including:
    • Supplier base/AVL
    • Supply Chain contracts and agreements associated with each site
    • Supply of fuels and gasses – Government and Commercial supply
    • Service Suppliers for Launch facilities
    • HazMat and explosive materials
  • Drive standardization and documentation of processes.
  • Work with Logistics to ensure compliance and timely delivery of required materials.
  • Support pre-flight expedite orders, shipments, and receiving.
  • Create and maintain material stocking standards for flight materials.
  • Work with Launch Vehicle Programs to support customer payload handling and integration.
  • Create assigned category strategies to support continued expansion of the launch site. (construction, raw materials, piping, valves, labor, etc.)
  • Prepare, issue and analyze RFx packages for one-time projects and ongoing goods and services requirements for the launch site.
  • Collaborate with Firefly internal customers to understand requirements and roadmaps.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 7+ years of Supply Chain program purchasing experience
  • BA, BS in related field
  • Great project management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to back up conclusions with data
  • Time management skills, with the ability to separate the important tasks from the noise
  • Sense of urgency, with the ability to work well under pressure and complete tasks on time
  • MS Office (including Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Software operation and data entry skills
  • Possess a valid “Real ID” driver’s license, and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks
  • Physical stamina to perform regular duties, including
    • Lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds
    • Stand for long periods of time
    • Crouch, bend, and reach

  • Military experience
  • Base Operations
  • Odoo ERP/MRP knowledge
  • ITAR experience
  • Experience in R&D, Proto-typing and test environment a plus
  • Experience in AS9100 environment
