We looking to hire a Lawn & Garden Buyer to contribute to our Purchasing Team. The ideal candidate will contribute to maximizing company sales and profitability, thrive on company growth, and stay up-to-date on product knowledge. Job Type: Full-Time Exempt

Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours

Location: L&M Supply Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MN

Targeted Pay Range: $60,000-$75,000 per year.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Lawn & Garden Buyer will work in collaboration with a Category Manager and be responsible for managing all aspects and activities related to the buying functions of the lawn & garden categories.

• Develop strategies to establish and maintain appropriate inventory level based on sales history, demand, availability, etc.
• Research, investigate, and analyze new products sales opportunities that address market demand and support L&M's goals.
• Develop strategic plans to drive sales volume, profit margin, and inventory turns of assigned category lines.
• Research, analyze and select product vendors.
• Develop merchandise advertising pricing guidelines and promotional pricing guidelines.
• Place and manage the placement of special orders based on customer requests.
• Attend buying shows and participate in vendor meetings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field AND
• Minimum of 3-4 years of retail Buying experience

OR

• 2-year degree in Business or related field AND
• 7 years of retail Buying experience
