Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tactical Procurement Buyer to manage the operational purchasing of materials, components, and services, while also supporting strategic sourcing initiatives for new product introductions (NPIs).
Key Responsibilities:
Tactical Procurement (primary function)
- Execute daily purchase orders for direct and indirect materials and services supporting all functions (engineering, facilities, IT, etc)
- Identify suppliers and obtain quotes for required aircraft maintenance items
- Manage supplier communications for order confirmations, delivery status, and expediting or de-expediting needs.
- Arrange collection and delivery of materials/equipment as required (quote/assign carrier, track progress, support import process when needed)
- Resolve supply discrepancies, such as quantity, quality, or invoice issues.
- Maintain accurate data in ERP systems including item master and supplier information.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate delivery or service issues.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Strategic Sourcing Support
- Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing team during new product development to identify and onboard suppliers for new components and materials.
- Assist in RFX processes, supplier evaluations, and cost analysis for new product sourcing.
- Coordinate with Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to ensure supplier capabilities align with product requirements and timelines.
- Support the transition from prototype to production sourcing.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (internal & external)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work cross functionally in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Preferred:
- Aviation purchasing experience
- Background in manufacturing, electronics, or similar industries.
- 2+ years of experience in tactical procurement, supply chain, or sourcing.
