In this sole contributor role, you’ll be the central point of contact for both internal teams and external suppliers—keeping communication clear, operations efficient, and expectations aligned. Buyer/Planner Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain Master production Schedule. Identify potential capacity constraints to materials compared to demand forecast and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Manage subcontractors, material suppliers, manufacturers and services to understand allocation of equipment capacity and manpower to formulate the best plan.
  • Review WIP and stock on hand reports. Implement consistent tools of communication to provide the best strategy to follow.
  • Anticipate and communicate those problems and issues with the supply chain that have the potential to disrupt existing plans. Modify plans if needed to prevent disruption.
  • Maintain acceptable levels and plan requirements for the purchase of materials.
  • Oversee the timely completion of product shop orders, proper maintenance of planning set-ups and preparation of production plans and reports to assure product availability. Ensure materials are ordered.
  • Develop and monitor applicable metrics to effectively monitor customer satisfaction with regard to product availability.
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory control and warehousing.
  • Coordinate all physical inventory activities.
  • Implement and maintain MRP controls as they are needed.
  • Enter and review product forecasts
  • Develop and maintain company purchasing and materials management policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate Change Notice (CN) updates and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in materials management in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field
  • ERP experience;
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills; a strong team player.
