Buying Officer - Textile

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with fabric suppliers to select appropriate materials for designs.
• Preparing supplier and shipment invoices
• Modify and adapt designs based on customer feedback, market demand, and production limitations.
• Research and analyze current market trends, consumer preferences, and competition to anticipate demand and create designs that will appeal to the target audience.
• Plan and schedule the production of textile goods, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Develop and maintain pricing strategies for textile products.
• Collaborate with sales teams to create product presentations and marketing materials.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure smooth production processes and timely delivery of textiles.
• Ensure that the final products meet quality standards and design specifications.
• Resolve production-related issues and ensure effective communication between all stakeholders.
• Oversee the quality control process during production to ensure the final product meets the required standards.
• Conduct inspections and resolve any quality or design issues that arise during production.
• Track project costs and manage budgets for design and production.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices for raw materials and manufacturing services.
• Stay up-to-date with global textile trends, fashion movements, and technological advancements in fabric production.
• Advocate for the use of sustainable materials and ethical production practices.
• Ensure designs and sourcing align with sustainability and corporate social responsibility goals.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field. Additional courses in merchandising, marketing, or business management are advantageous.
• 1-2 years of experience in textile design, merchandising, or production management.
• Experiences in preparing supplier and shipment invoices
• Strong sense of creativity, with the ability to design textiles that are visually appealing and marketable.
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD software), as well as a solid understanding of textile production processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and teams.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with regard to design, color accuracy, and fabric quality.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Ability to negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and manufacturers
