RINA is seeking for a CAD Designer - Field Integrated in Arkadelphia (Arkansas)
Activities to be performed at Client's site.
Role Summary:
We’re seeking a CAD Designer with strong field experience to support the Veolia incinerator project in Arkadelphia. Unlike a traditional CAD production role, this position is RFI-heavy and focused on supporting engineering design in the field, performing P&ID and isometric redlines, and closing documentation gaps. The ideal candidate combines piping knowledge, the ability to interpret/critique engineering documents, and hands-on field problem solving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive, log, prioritize, and respond to RFIs; perform document research to resolve technical gaps.
Coordinate with engineering to confirm design intent; track closure and communicate impacts to schedule.
Execute P&ID redlines and isometric redlines based on field conditions and engineering guidance.
Validate line numbers, specs, tie-ins, valves, instruments; reconcile discrepancies across drawings.
Conduct field walks to verify routing, clearances, supports, weld details, and installations.
Capture as-built conditions and mark up drawings; escalate issues requiring engineering change.
Maintain disciplined revision control; label and archive updates per project standards.
Perform basic QA/QC checks on drawings and markups to ensure consistency and code alignment.
Assist in clarifying design intent, performing simple takeoffs, and identifying constructability issues.
Interface with planners, inspectors, and construction teams to close out actions.
Professional Requirements:
5–10 years in piping/industrial design roles (incinerator, chemical, refinery, or heavy industrial preferred).
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Plant 3D (or MicroStation/SmartPlant), P&ID and piping isometric workflows.
Demonstrated experience closing RFIs, performing field redlines, and as-built updates.
Strong understanding of piping systems, specs, materials, valves, and instrumentation.
Ability to interpret and correct engineering documents; meticulous with details and revision control.
Comfortable working onsite in industrial environments and meeting tight timelines.
Exposure to mechanical planning, welding inspection, or API vessel/tank/piping inspection (preferred).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
