CAD Designer/Drafter

Job Description

ONYX Services is seeking an exceptional, skilled & experienced AutoCAD Civil 3D Technician. The position reports to onsite management located at our New Caney TX office. This is a full time position. ONYX Services is an established land and marine contractor that offers inspection, design and construction services to a nationwide client base. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Develops detailed survey drawings which include, but are not limited to the following: pipeline alignments, land boundaries, topographic contour maps, civil and geotechnical design, etc.
• Use the latest version of AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare design drawings with plan, profile, section and detail views as designated by the engineering team
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and construction specifications
• Complete job summary and construction notes for review by project engineers
• Ability to communicate closely with field techs and supervisors to interpret notes and sketches
• Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks while maintaining efficiency and quality of work
• MUST have attention to detail and precision
• Ability to produce design drawings that are clear, concise and organized to meet each client’s codes and standards
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
• Problem solving and critical-thinking skills
• Takes pride in work and takes initiative to expand knowledge base
• Project managers are kept informed of progress and potential obstacles
• Proficient use of MS Outlook, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Plan/Profile and Land Development experience is a PLUS.

*Salary commensurate with experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

• AutoCAD: 2 years (Preferred)
