The CAD Electrical Draftsman is a core role within our specialized manpower division, focusing specifically on the booming Building Construction sector. This position is designed for a technical expert who understands the unique electrical requirements of vertical construction.

The Role of a CAD Electrical Draftsman in Building Construction

In the realm of high-rise and commercial building projects, the CAD Electrical Draftsman acts as the technical architect of the building’s power and safety systems. You are not just drawing lines; you are creating the blueprint for how a 50-story tower stays powered, safe, and functional. From the main switchgear in the basement to the aircraft warning lights on the roof, your drawings ensure every component is accurately placed and compliant with UAE laws.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities

• Advanced Technical Drafting: Prepare high-precision 2D electrical shop drawings using AutoCAD based on architectural layouts and MEP design requirements.
• Specialized System Layouts: Draft comprehensive plans for Power Distribution, Lighting, Fire Alarm systems, Emergency Lighting, and Low Voltage (ELV) systems including CCTV, Data, and Access Control.
• Coordination: Manage the vertical distribution of power, including busbar systems, rising mains, and electrical closet layouts for buildings.
• Authority Compliance (DEWA/ADDC): Ensure every drawing adheres to the specific regulations of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) or ADDC. This includes proper load schedules and cable sizing notations.
• Clash Coordination: Work within a multidisciplinary MEP team to ensure electrical containment (trays and conduits) does not clash with mechanical ducts or plumbing pipes.
• As-Built Documentation: Develop meticulous As-Built drawings that reflect exactly what was installed on-site, which is a mandatory requirement for building completion certificates.
• Quantity Take-offs: Provide the site team and procurement department with accurate bill of quantities (BOQ) derived directly from your CAD layouts.
• Site Revisions: Support the site engineers by quickly updating drawings to reflect changes in construction or architectural modifications during the building phase.

Comprehensive Candidate Requirements

To be successful as a CAD Electrical Draftsman, you must meet the following mandatory criteria:

• Direct Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in electrical drafting, with at least 2+ years of mandatory experience in the UAE/GCC building sector.
• Building Expertise: Proven background in Building Construction, specifically Residential, Commercial, and High-Rise towers. (building experience is essential).
• Technical Mastery: Advanced AutoCAD proficiency is required. comfortable handling large file sizes, Xrefs, and layering standards.
• Communication: Excellent English Communication skills are a must. You will be coordinating with project managers and site supervisors daily.
• Relocation & Model: You must be comfortable working with a Manpower Supply company and be flexible to relocate to any Emirate (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, etc.) as per project requirements.

Salary, Benefits & Joining Details

• Monthly Salary: AED 4,000 – AED 6,500 + Accommodation + Transport/AED 8000 Full package - Negotiable for Excellent Candidates.
• Immediate joiners currently in the UAE are highly preferred/Max 30 Days
