CAD Operator / CAD Draftsman – Infrastructure (Wet Utilities)

Overview

We are seeking a CAD Operator / CAD Draftsman to support the infrastructure team in the preparation and development of technical drawings related to wet utilities networks, including water supply, sewerage, and stormwater systems.

The primary role of the candidate will be to provide CAD drafting support using AutoCAD, assisting engineers and BIM specialists in producing accurate and high-quality drawings during the design and coordination stages of infrastructure projects.

The role focuses mainly on 2D drafting and drawing production, ensuring that all drawings follow project standards, maintain technical accuracy, and clearly represent design intent.

Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D is not mandatory but will be considered a strong advantage, particularly for supporting engineers with basic model navigation, utility layouts, and extraction of plans and profiles when required.

The candidate will work closely with the design and BIM teams to support ongoing infrastructure projects and maintain high drafting standards.

Your role

• Drawing Production
• Prepare 2D CAD drawings for infrastructure wet utilities including:
• Water supply networks
• Sewer networks
• Stormwater drainage systems
• Produce plans, profiles, and typical sections based on design inputs provided by engineers.
• Design Support
• Convert engineering sketches, markups, and redline comments into accurate CAD drawings.
• Revise and update drawings according to engineering feedback and design development.
• Assist in preparing utility layouts, corridor drawings, and infrastructure plans.
• Coordination Support
• Support engineers and BIM specialists in maintaining drawing consistency and coordination between utilities and other disciplines.
• Assist in implementing coordination updates and design revisions throughout project stages.
• Documentation and Standards
• Ensure drawings comply with project CAD standards, layer management, and naming conventions.
• Maintain well-organized drawing files and support revision control and documentation processes.
• Civil 3D Support (Optional)
• Assist engineers in reviewing Civil 3D models and utility layouts when required.
• Support in extracting plans, profiles, and sections from Civil 3D models under supervision.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline (Engineering, Architecture, Technical Drafting, or similar fields) from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Candidates with a Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification in drafting, engineering technology, or CAD-related fields may also be considered.
• 2–5 years of experience in CAD drafting within infrastructure or engineering consultancy projects is preferred.
• Experience working on wet utilities drawings (water, sewer, or storm networks) will be considered a strong advantage.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
• Good understanding of technical drawings and infrastructure layouts.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D is considered a strong advantage but not mandatory.
• Very good English language skills with the ability to communicate in a professional business environment, both written and spoken.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, redlines, and markups.
• Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
