CAD Technician

Job Description:

A TOTAL OF SIX CAD TECHNICIANS REQUIRED

Amazon is seeking a CAD technician that will support Designers, Specialists and PMs in developing design drawings of industrial layouts in compliance with Amazon standards and/or developing new or updating existing design modules. This individual will be supporting Amazon's EMEA fulfillment network across multiple stages of a project. Ranging from a high level conceptual drawing (napkin drawing) to detailed processing layout (MHE, storage solutions, ...etc) or delivering efficient, standardized module solutions through proactive product module management.

They will be supporting the design development of both new and existing fulfillment center layouts.

A successful candidate has an established background in developing design drawings of high-performance physical systems, and an internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. They will have quick turnaround skills, high attention to detail, and have the ability to ask the right question to extract the level of details needed to develop the layouts.

Expected deliverables:

• Initial sketch designs
• Run spatial assessments for project feasibility
• Quick turnaround to high level drawings with multiple scenarios
• Development of drawings used to engage with vendors during RFP process
• Development REVD drawings for retrofit projects
• Development of test fit layout for storage and MHE Solutions for greenfield projects
• MHE & Storage Vendor drawing integration during firm engineering design
• Deliver updates based on new module change requests from corporate and site stakeholders against existing standards
• Support Module Design Specialists and PMs with the end-to-end Module Design List for assigned projects and identify module design improvements

Required qualifications/certifications:

• Degree or other advanced degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Process Engineering
• Experience in the development of designs for Warehouse and Logistics solutions
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), REVIT, & Naviswork
• Experience working with the designs of complex automated material handling equipment and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Advanced English Communication skills

Software / programs / tools: Autodesk, (AutoCAD), NAVISWORK, REVIT

Required Years of Experience: 3-5
