CAD Technician - Structural

WSP is currently seeking a CAD Technician – Structural for Earth & Environment supporting the US, who shall be responsible creation and editing of drawings in compliance with WSP CAD Standards and detailing practices as well as producing high quality output using AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit software. The position is for BENGALURU & NOIDA location.

Successful candidate will be a team player and willing to work collaboratively with a motivated and highly successful team supporting US projects.

• This role is for a CAD Technician – Structural to contribute on mining Infrastructure projects, deliverables in compliance with WSP CAD standards.

• Responsible for preparation of drawings including conceptual sketches and detailed construction drawings for structure using Autodesk Revit software with quality and accuracy.

• Prepare structural drawings that involve piling layouts and schedules, structural concrete drawings with rebar details, structural steel drawings, equipment foundation, pipe rack and equipment resting platform.

• Experienced in efficiently managing project documentation and data shortcuts during drawing preparation. Shows strong attention to detail by effectively using smart labelling, styles, and precise Latitude and Longitude information in drawing preparations.

• Develop 3D models and extract 2D drawings from 3D models.

• Must complete a high-quality self-check on one’s own work with efficiency. Follow internal QC process to deliver high standards project documents.

• Perform review of engineering drawings, as per markups made by the checkers. Verify to ensure drawing modifications are accurately and correctly carried out.

• Reporting progress of work assignments, including risks or concerns, to line manager. Understands the project schedule.

• Communicate with internal peers and project team and may be required to answer questions regarding deliverables.

• Autodesk Vault or Bentley ProjectWise experience would be an asset.

• Responsible for CAD tasks as directed by the CAD Manager and Engineer.

• Responsible for preparing Material and Quantity take off.

Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering

• Must be a self- starter and proficient in the use of Autodesk family software’s like AutoCAD and Revit.

• 7 to 10 years of proven industry experience in detailed design on Mining, Power, Oil and Gas projects or other Industrial projects.
• Possess knowledge of fabrication drawings and building architectural drawings based on engineering instructions, government and regulatory codes.
• Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a good understanding of AISC & ACI 318 codes for steel structure and reinforcement concrete.

Preferred Qualifications

• Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit certified user certification would be advantageous.
• Ability to self manage work in a fast-paced team environment.
