Detailed description:
Principal Engineer I Mechanical


Enabling a software-defined, electrified future.

Mission of the Role:
  • Principal Engineer I Mechanical is an individual contributor.
  • Support CAE activities for the Product Development & Sustaining activities with clear understanding of problem-solving techniques.
  • Propose solutions for New CAE methods and improve the existing method / process.
  • Should have the ability to lead, guide and mentor the young engineers in their Capability and competency development.
Key Objectives of this Role:
  • Independently handle the CDC, IVI, Electrification projects assigned to him, support and execute the CAE simulations and provide clear solutions incase of any issues / problems.
  • Project Management & Process Compliance within and out of the team
  • Communication, Co-ordination with relevant stakeholders across all regions
  • Ensure quality of deliverables with 100% First Time Right and On Time Delivery
  • Provide technical & professional guidance and support to peer members.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Respect Visteon development process with no NC during internal Mechanical audits
  • Achieve Mechanical milestones defined by program team.
Key Year One Deliverables:
  • Take independent responsibility of one forward program meeting delivery schedule without any slippage.
  • Meet the respective guidelines defined in the Visteon development process.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
  • Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 6 to 12 years of relevant experience preferably in regional or global environment.
  • Experience in Automotive CAE simulations handling Structural Analysis like Linear, Nonlinear Static, Modal and Frequency Response Analysis, Fatigue Analysis at full vehicle level or Assembly or Component level.
  • Exposure to CAE and testing domains, preferably in Displays, Infotainment, Cockpit Electronic products, Electrification vehicles products.
  • Proficiency in Altair Hyperworks Simulation Platform, Other CAE structural software
  • Expertise in Thermal Simulations using Flotherm XT is an added advantage.
  • Must be flexible, dependable, and capable of learning new products and technologies.
