Velvet Desert Café is a new premium café concept inspired by the elegance and craftsmanship of Velvet Desert Jewelry. We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Café Operations Manager to lead the café from launch through daily operations—owning service standards, team performance, and operational excellence in a luxury hospitality environment.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for running the café end-to-end: operations, staffing, customer experience, financial performance, and brand execution. You’ll ensure that every shift runs smoothly, every guest receives premium service, and every detail—from music to menu—is aligned with the Velvet Desert brand.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Operational Leadership
• Oversee day-to-day café operations including scheduling, staffing, and service flow.
• Establish, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure full compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
• Manage opening and closing procedures and operational checklists.
• Team Management & Training
• Recruit, train, and supervise baristas, head barista, and service staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and on-the-floor coaching.
• Develop and implement training programs to ensure consistency and service excellence.
• Customer Experience & Brand Standards
• Uphold Velvet Desert’s luxury customer experience at all times.
• Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Ensure café atmosphere reflects the brand: cleanliness, ambiance, music, and customer interaction.
• Financial & Inventory Management
• Manage P&L, daily sales reports, and cost controls.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast needs, and coordinate with suppliers.
• Optimize labor costs and operational expenses without compromising quality.
• Menu & Marketing Coordination
• Collaborate with the Head Barista on menu development and seasonal offerings.
• Work with the marketing team on promotions, events, and product launches.
• Support brand alignment across café touchpoints, messaging, and service style.

YOU WILL ROCK AT THIS ROLE IF YOU...

✔ Have 3–5 years’ experience as a Café Manager or Restaurant Manager.
✔ Bring strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
✔Understand specialty coffee and current café trends.
✔ Have experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational KPIs.
✔Can multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Have experience in premium or luxury hospitality (strong advantage).
✔ Are confident using POS systems, MS Office, and reporting tools.
