About the role:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in setting up the cafe, including equipment installation and layout planning.

Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for service, hygiene, and food safety.

Participate in menu planning, pricing, and supplier selection.

Recruit, train, and onboard staff before the opening.

Conduct staff training on customer service, food safety, and POS systems.

Work with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of inventory and supplies.

Obtain necessary licenses and permits for cafe operations.

Organize a soft launch and trial runs to ensure operational readiness.

Oversee daily operations to ensure a smooth workflow.

Monitor stock levels, place orders, and control wastage.

Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests.

Lead, mentor, and support the cafe team.

Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.

Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
-
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
-
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.

Implement strategies to increase footfall and customer retention.

Train staff on upselling and promotional strategies.

Assist in budget planning and cost control measures.

Monitor daily sales, cash handling, and financial reporting.

Analyze sales data to improve profitability and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in a pre-opening role
within a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality business.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Experience in hiring, training, and managing a team.

Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management, and cost control.

Certification in hospitality management or food safety.
-
Barista training or experience in specialty coffee service.
