Cafe Supervisor/Manager

About the role:

Are you passionate about hospitality and ready to take on a leadership role? We are looking for a Cafe Supervisor for our new franchised German brand. If you have pre-opening experience, leadership skills, and a love for great coffee and food , we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up the cafe, including equipment installation and layout planning.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for service, hygiene, and food safety.
  • Participate in menu planning, pricing, and supplier selection.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard staff before the opening.
  • Conduct staff training on customer service, food safety, and POS systems.
  • Work with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of inventory and supplies.
  • Obtain necessary licenses and permits for cafe operations.
  • Organize a soft launch and trial runs to ensure operational readiness.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and control wastage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the cafe team.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Implement strategies to increase footfall and customer retention.
  • Train staff on upselling and promotional strategies.
  • Assist in budget planning and cost control measures.
  • Monitor daily sales, cash handling, and financial reporting.
  • Analyze sales data to improve profitability and efficiency.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a pre-opening role within a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality business.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in hiring, training, and managing a team.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Certification in hospitality management or food safety.
  • Barista training or experience in specialty coffee service.
