Project Summary
The anticipated Sindh Strategic Water Plan (SSWP), supported under the Sindh Water & Agriculture Transformation (SWAT) Project, aims to address Sindh’s urgent water‑related environmental, climatic, and socio‑economic challenges. The assignment will develop an integrated, province‑wide strategic water plan that includes scenario analysis, resource management strategies, and regional IWRM plans across short‑ (5‑year), medium‑ (20‑year), and long‑term (50‑year) horizons. Should CDM Smith be successful our pursuit of this assignment, the work will involve advanced modelling for water quantity and quality, institutional and governance strengthening, flood and drought risk management, irrigation and agricultural water assessments, and comprehensive analysis of existing data using tools such as HEC models, Flow‑3D or equivalent modelling platforms.
Key Expert Description
We are establishing a roster of senior international water resources specialists capable of contributing to planning, analysis, modelling, and strategy development within the SSWP. Experts on this roster may support multiple technical domains including water resources planning, agricultural water management, and water resources modelling. Typical responsibilities may include contributing to scenario development, formulating regional IWRM strategies, undertaking hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, assessing irrigation and agricultural water systems, preparing resource management strategies, and participating in technical coordination within a multi‑disciplinary team. Experts may also contribute to the development of decision‑support tools, training of local counterparts, and preparation of analyses that inform strategic water policy and investment planning.
