The purpose of this classification in the division of Enhanced 911 is to initiate a response to incoming calls for emergency and non-emergency assistance
All applicants who are not currently certified as a Telecommunicator in Kentucky will be required to pass a public safety communications pre-employment test (CritiCall), which measures the applicant's skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the Telecommunicator¿s job. In accordance with KRS 15.540:
Applicants who meet the minimum education and experience requirements will be invited to schedule their CritiCall Personnel Selection System test. The names of those who pass the CritiCall test will be sent to the hiring official. The hiring official may invite you to schedule an interview and if selected to continue in the process, you will complete the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council's (KLEC) Suitability Screening in Richmond, KY. Applicants will undergo further examinations to include a polygraph and extensive background check.
