Canine Outdoor Supervisor/Dog trainer

PupFit is an Adventure Hiking service for the urban dog. We’re steadily growing, and are in search of a promising candidate to join our team!

We are accepting resumes of candidates who are passionate about dogs, AND the outdoors. The ideal applicant will be motivated, willing to work hard, enthusiastic, teachable, and reliable. YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE supervising groups of 10+ dogs, understand basic dog behavior / group dynamics during play, and are confident managing all dog breeds, sizes, and ages.

In addition, prospective applicants must be willing to work outdoors, in all types of weather, in wet/muddy terrain, and during all seasons. Candidates must have a clean driving record (no DUI).

Responsibilities:

• Manage a safe and engaging playgroup of 10+ dogs
• Use PupFit dog handling techniques, and tools, as instructed by the trainers
• Efficiently bathe dogs after their Adventure Hike
• Assist other staff members as needed
• Effectively navigate in the city while transporting dogs to/from their residence
• Must be personable, and friendly
• Must be able walk outdoors in rough terrain

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school graduate or GED preferred
• Previous dog daycare experience
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Feels secure around all types of dogs
• Patient, along with a calm, friendly, demeanor
• Verifiable experience demonstrating reliability (resume)
• Willingness to follow instructions and learn new skills
• Self-motivated and responsible worker
• Ability to work in a team environment, and as an individual

Job Type:

• Part-time, contract to permanent

Pay:

• $20.00 per hour (after paid training period)

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday (some Saturday mornings)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Dog Daycare: 1 year+
• Helpful experience, but not required: dog training, dog walking, dog bathing

Work Location:

• 3000-acre ranch (west of Houston), and an indoor pool/gym facility (in Houston)
