About the Role
As a Customer Care Associate / Budtender, you are the face of Tree of Life. You will deliver welcoming, educational, and compliant experiences while helping customers find products that best meet their needs. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, detail‑oriented, passionate about cannabis, and committed to creating an exceptional customer experience.
Primary ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Satisfaction
- Greet and assist customers in a warm, professional, and respectful manner
- Create a comfortable, judgment‑free environment for all guests
- Spend quality time with each customer to understand their needs and preferences
- Handle customer questions, feedback, and concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Encourage customers to explore education materials and product information
Budtending & Product Knowledge
- Educate customers on cannabis products, including strains, genetics, THC content, effects, benefits, and possible side effects
- Make personalized recommendations on product type, consumption method, and quantity
- Stay informed on new products, promotions, and menu changes
- Update customers when items are sold out or newly available
Compliance & Transactions
- Verify customer identification and ensure full compliance with Nevada cannabis laws
- Accurately enter customer information and orders into the POS system
- Process transactions, including cash handling, payments, and change
- Process curbside and in‑store pickup orders from online platforms
Inventory & Store Operations
- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures
- Conduct inventory checks to ensure accuracy between physical stock and online menu
- Assist with regular and monthly inventory audits
- Communicate restock needs to the team
Store Support & Safety
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked common areas
- Handle phones and paperwork as needed
- Monitor customer access and maintain security awareness
- Complete required logs and reports
- Assist with additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Working knowledge of cannabis products and Nevada cannabis laws
- Understanding of strains, genetics, THC content, and industry terminology (or strong willingness to learn)
- Computer literacy; experience with POS systems and social media preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Reliable, honest, responsible, and detail‑oriented
- Clean, organized, and professional
- Experience in retail or customer service strongly preferred
Compliance Requirements
- Ability to pass a personal reference and background check through the Cannabis Control Board
- Note: Applicants with violent felonies or drug-related offenses within the past 10 years are not eligible
- Must be able to obtain a Sheriff’s Work Card (NLV)
Authorities
- Authorized to handle and dispense cannabis products
- Authorized to process purchases and customer transactions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
