Mission Statement

To ensure agile, efficient, and risk-aware short-term logistics planning that supports seamless transport and distribution operations for key clients. By leading a team of planning analysts and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Short-Term Planning Supervisor drives operational excellence, anticipates challenges, and delivers data-driven solutions that align with business goals and customer expectations.


Key Responsibilities


Short-Term Planning & Capacity Management


  • Ensure short-term planning (time horizon under 5 weeks) for a key client is executed effectively.
  • Conduct and validate weekly capacity analysis (4-week rolling) per supplier, covering transport, warehousing, services, and distribution operations.
  • Identify risks related to achieving expected performance levels.


Transport & Distribution Oversight


  • Ensure weekly transport plans, aligned with production and sales forecasts, are shared with logistics partners.
  • Monitor saturation forecasts of major distribution centers and proactively identify potential risks.
  • Support the team in finding alternative solutions in case of transport capacity or availability issues.


Solution Implementation & Evaluation


  • Evaluate the economic impact of new capacity solutions and present technical-economic analyses to the client.
  • Manage the implementation of new solutions, coordinating all involved stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper reporting to both the client and internal stakeholders.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Support


  • Support the operations team in preparing weekly and monthly meetings with transport providers and clients.
  • Ensure flow managers optimize volume allocation across logistics operators.
  • Collaborate with the client on planned changes and monitor the achievement of set goals.
  • Work with operational managers to ensure transport needs are properly planned and executed by logistics partners.


Team Leadership


  • Lead and manage a team of planning analysts, ensuring high performance and development.


Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in Logistics or Transport.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in planning or operational management (transport and logistics).
  • Language: Very good command of English (spoken and written).
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong sense of responsibility and goal orientation.
  • Ability to anticipate and act effectively in crisis situations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, forecasting, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
