Capex Management Assistant Manager

Job Purpose


The role holder is responsible to support the effective planning, management, and governance of the Group’s CAPEX portfolio by coordinating annual budgeting exercises, evaluating project submissions, and ensuring strategic alignment with organizational objectives. The role facilitates cross-functional collaboration, prepares and presents key documentation for senior management, and monitors CAPEX performance throughout the year. Additionally, it contributes to process improvement initiatives, supports ROI analysis, and ensures accurate reporting and knowledge management to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the organization.


Key Responsibilities


Annual Capex Planning

  • Support Portfolio Manager in the annual Group Capex budget exercise.
  • Assess capex request submissions against capital investments guiding principles and Group’s strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate capex review meetings with various requesting units and Group IT for assessment from technology, capacity, and total cost of ownership aspects, including preparing documents, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
  • Prepare all necessary documents and presentations for management meetings.


Capex Management

  • Review and evaluate projects/CAPEX initiation requests for justification, budget availability, and cost breakdown, while assessing and prioritizing submissions based on strategic relevance and urgency.
  • Support in assessing Return on Investment in alignment with Finance and Strategy units.
  • Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information and documentation for Capex requests and approvals.
  • Communicate Capex Working Group actions to business owners and senior management.
  • Communicate CAPEX approvals to relevant project owners and the Finance team, ensuring clarity on approved budgets, scope, and next steps for implementation. This includes sharing formal confirmation, addressing any queries, and coordinating with Finance for budget allocation and tracking.
  • Monitor Capex budget throughout the year, including PSC Pool and Reallocations Pool, and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Maintain and update Capex management databases and tracking systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.


Reporting & Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to support return on investment assessment.
  • Develop comprehensive Capex performance reports, including key metrics like ROI, payback periods, and benefits, and present findings to senior management.


Process Improvement

  • Support the team in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes and methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or in any other subject or equivalent is required.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or in any other subject is preferred.
  • Professional qualification is preferred such as PMP, CAPM.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of practical experience in a bank in the same or similar function.
