Capital Improvement Program System Administrator

Position Summary

The Capital Improvement Program System Administrator is responsible for implementation, administration, and optimization of MAC’s portfolio planning and project management solutions to support Capital Improvement Program (CIP) planning and project management activities. This role involves collaborating with project initiation staff, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project planning, scheduling, and resource management. This includes working with MAC staff to understand business needs, configuring technical solutions, addressing questions of functionality, providing guidance in the development of technical solutions and supporting the day-to-day operations of the planning system (currently Oracle Primavera Cloud) used by the MAC.

This position is responsible for performing complex design, configuration, testing, and coordination with MAC IT and vendor support, providing support to users, and the set-up and roll out of new functionalities and recommending best practices for the management and use of the software.

Position Description

JOB DUTIES

  • System Administration and Execution: Implement and configure and operationalize MAC’s portfolio planning and project management solutions, ensuring alignment with project management requirements. Facilitate requirements determination, configuration, and testing as needed to meet current and future business needs.
  • Support and Troubleshooting: Provide business support to users, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate with IT for resolution.Lend support to system and component upgrades.
  • Training and Documentation: Conduct training sessions for end-users and create comprehensive documentation for system processes and best practices.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze project data to generate reports and dashboards that provide insights into project performance and progress.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to optimize project management workflows when appropriate.
  • Project Scheduling and Planning: Support Project Delivery team to develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and timelines using Oracle Primavera Cloud, if selected as project management platform.
  • Understand the design and functionality of integrations to and from other applications.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of direct experience with enterprise portfolio planning and project management systems.
  • Demonstrated strong technical aptitude working on enterprise systems
  • Experience supporting end-users with resolving system issues and implementing changes
  • Experience performing business analyst activities such as issue identification, gathering requirements, business process design, influencing direction and usage of software tools
  • Experience in the development of system documentation and procedures
  • Completion of at least one implementation cycle such as a tools release or upgrade
  • Solid interpersonal skills, technically curious and self-motivated
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information to the end-users in an easily understood manner

Desirable Requirements
  • Five years of direct experience with Oracle Primavera Cloud or P6.
  • Oracle Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management Certified Implementation Specialist, Oracle Primavera Unifier Certified Administration Professional, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Associate or similar relevant certification(s)
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management or equivalent experience
  • Ability to drive initiatives through presentation, facilitation, and communication skills

Other Information

This position provides an opportunity for on-site and remote work. MAC's remote work policy requires employees to be on-site three days of the week. Among the three on-site days, one of them must be either a Monday or a Friday and on Tuesdays, all employees are required to be onsite.
