Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of experience, including two years of supervisory experience in one or a combination of the following: professional museum or historic site work; paraprofessional museum work; professional experience in the instruction or research in education, art, history, or museum science; professional library experience; or professional experience in fundraising or promotional marketing activities; or related field.
Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduate coursework credit received from an accredited college or university in education, art, history, museum science, library science, anthropology, industrial design, architecture, business administration, advertising/marketing or related field may substitute for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of three years, there being no substitution for the required supervisory experience (e.g., 36 graduate quarter hours in one or a combination of the above listed fields may be substituted for one year of the required experience).
Necessary Special Qualifications: Complete a background clearance application which includes releasing all records involving any criminal history and a valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

Overview
The Tennessee State Museum is seeking a Capitol Visitor Services Manager who will oversee the daily operations, staffing, and strategic direction of visitor services and educational programming at the Tennessee State Capitol. Reporting to the Director of Education & Public Programs, this position leads a team of educators and volunteers to ensure exceptional customer service, efficient tour operations, and a welcoming experience for school groups, civic organizations, VIP delegations, and general visitors. The role also serves as a key liaison between the Tennessee
State Museum, Capitol administrators, legislators, and other officials while coordinating group visits, maintaining visitation records, and supporting the development of educational content and program materials for the future Capitol Visitor Center.
