The
Cardiac Cath Radiology Tech
is responsible for performing diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Electrophysiology Lab. This role involves operating imaging equipment, assisting physicians during invasive procedures, and ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and radiation protocols.
The technician will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and cardiovascular teams to deliver accurate imaging and exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Imaging Excellence

Operate radiographic/X-ray equipment for diagnostic and interventional procedures

Ensure high-quality imaging for accurate physician interpretation

Position patients appropriately using protective and immobilization techniques
-
Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
Clinical & Procedural Support
-
Assist in Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology procedures

Function as scrub tech, monitor tech, and table assistant during procedures

Support physicians and clinical staff during invasive interventions
-
Participate in on-call rotations for emergency procedures
Radiation Safety & Equipment Handling

Adjust imaging equipment to ensure optimal exposure techniques

Follow strict radiation safety and sterile technique guidelines
-
Maintain responsibility for equipment functionality and quality control

Ensure all imaging data is correctly processed, labeled, and archived
Quality & Compliance

Adhere to departmental policies and safety protocols

Ensure all procedures are properly documented and transmitted

Participate in continuous education and professional development

Support quality improvement and compliance initiatives
Must-Have Qualifications
-
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program

Active Illinois State Licensure (Required)

ARRT Registration (Required)

BLS Certification (Required)

Minimum 5+ years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab / Radiology

Strong understanding of radiation safety and sterile techniques
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab

Experience in high-volume Cath Lab settings

Strong procedural and interventional support experience
