Overview
    The Career Counsellor at Glendale Academy will guide students in understanding their career aspirations and provide support in developing educational and career plans. The role involves mentoring students to identify their strengths, interests, and goals, facilitating university admissions processes, and assisting them in making informed career decisions.
Responsibilities
    Career Guidance and Counseling:
    Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions for students to understand their career interests, aptitudes, and aspirations.
    Administer psychometric and aptitude tests to evaluate students' skills, interests, and career inclinations.
    Provide career exploration resources, tools, and workshops for students and parents.
    Guide students in setting short-term and long-term career goals.
    University and College Admission Support:
    Assist students in identifying suitable courses and universities based on their academic performance, interests, and career aspirations.
    Support students with the application process for universities, including reviewing resumes, personal statements, essays, and preparing for interviews.
    Keep up-to-date with admission requirements for domestic and international universities.
    Organize career fairs, university visits, and webinars to facilitate exposure to various academic and career opportunities.
    Curriculum Integration:
    Collaborate with academic coordinators and teachers to integrate career-related activities into the curriculum.
    Develop workshops on life skills, soft skills, and professional behavior for students to prepare them for future challenges.
    Parental Engagement:
    Conduct orientation sessions and meetings with parents to discuss students’ progress and career planning.
    Provide insights into emerging career fields and their relevance for students.
    Industry Exposure and Networking:
    Build relationships with industry professionals, alumni, and universities to create internship and mentorship opportunities for students.
    Stay informed about industry trends and share insights with students and staff.
    Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain detailed records of student interactions, assessments, and career development plans.
    Prepare and present monthly/quarterly reports on career counseling activities and outcomes.
    Create and distribute informative materials on career options, scholarships, and upcoming events.

Skills Description
    Education:
      A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
      Additional certifications in Career Counseling (e.g., GCDF, Career Development Facilitator certification) are preferred.
    Experience:
      3-5 years of experience in career counseling in an international school or similar setting.
      Familiarity with IB, IGCSE, and CBSE curricula is an added advantage.
    Skills:
      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      Strong organizational and time-management skills.
      Proficiency in career guidance tools and psychometric testing.
      Ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and build trust.
      Knowledge of global education systems, including scholarships and visa requirements.
