Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Career Tech Exercise Science Teacher to inspire students in exploring the exciting world of exercise science, sports medicine, and human performance. Duties
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in exercise science, anatomy, physiology, and related fields
- Deliver interactive lectures and practical laboratory sessions on topics such as dissection, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, and cell biology
- Incorporate learning technology to enhance student understanding through digital simulations, online assessments, and research tools
- Develop assessments including standardized tests and project-based evaluations to measure student progress
- Provide individualized tutoring and academic advising to support diverse learning needs, including students in special education or with behavioral management requirements
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive and inclusive environment conducive to active learning
- Mentor students on scientific research projects, laboratory techniques, and career pathways in exercise science or related disciplines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Biology, Chemistry, Education or a related field; advanced degrees preferred
- Proven classroom management skills with experience in lesson planning and instructional design
- Strong knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math and their applications in scientific contexts
- Hands-on laboratory experience with dissection techniques, microbiology procedures, genetics experiments, and research laboratory practices
- Familiarity with working with students of varying abilities and implementing behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, mentorship, and collaboration with colleagues
- Experience with curriculum development tailored to science education standards and higher education teaching practices
- Ability to utilize learning technology tools for instruction and assessment purposes
- Prior experience working in private schools or specialized educational settings such as Montessori or special education programs is advantageous
