POSITION TITLE: Direct Care Staff

REPORTS TO: Supervisor/ Lead Caregiver; LCCA

JOB STATUS: Full-time, Part-time, PRN, Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma, be 21 years of age, and have a

valid Driver’s License in the state of Texas.

SUPERVISES: None

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing for the basic needs of children in care. This

includes, but is not limited to, supervision and monitoring, modeling, and teaching

appropriate social interactions and appropriate relationship building, nurturing,

disciplining, interacting with children during activities, teaching proper hygiene and

activities of daily living and assisting with educational enrichment.

DUTIES:

1. Provide children/youth with support and guidance in the implementation of

activities of daily living (hygiene, chores, dressing, etc.).

2. Implement the therapeutic program as designed for children/youth in care in a

consistent manner.

3. Providing natural and logical consequences as needed to ensure all children’s

safety and well-being.

4. Provide emergency behavior interventions according to established policies and

regulatory guidelines.

5. Administer medications.

6. Provide appropriate structure, discipline, and guidance to children based on the

policies and procedures.

7. Complete all assigned paperwork to include daily progress notes, shift

correspondence, incident reports, and other communications in a timely manner.

8. Report abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children as required by law if any exist.

9. Attend and participate in all mandatory meetings, trainings, and workshops to

enhance skills and knowledge.

10. Other duties not listed but assigned as needed.
