Seeking an experienced and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a 42 year old male in NE Portland needing full time help Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10am to 3pm, Thursdays 9am to 2pm and Evenings/Saturday are flexible. He is caring, loving, funny and can be the life of the party. He enjoys writing and art and his family is important to him. He is needing help with emotional regulation, maintaining his mental/emotional health, keeping his home organized, getting out into the community, staying connected with his medical support team, Hygiene and ADL reminders/prompts and help advocating for himself at times when he is struggling to do so. There is tobacco smoking at times and no pets. DSP will need to be able to drive and be wiling to be trained on his Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP).

Candidate Must have-

• Valid Drivers License and Insurance Coverage
• Unique communication skills requiring patience and understanding
• Ability to provide occasional assistance in the restroom
• Vigilant attention span as client is quick to wander

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary
• Assist with dressing, grooming
• Assist in daily living activities and needs
• Participate in life enriching activities
• A caregiver may assist with medication reminders
• Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app
• Maintain client confidentiality
• Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
