Compassionate Caregiver (DSP) – 1:1 Medical Support & Companionship

Location: Banks, OR (approx. 7 miles past Forest Grove) Schedule: Fri, Sat, and/or Sun, Mon, Tues | Shift: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Potential for extended hours)

We are seeking a vigilant, kindhearted, and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide specialized care for an amazing 33-year-old woman in her family home. While she is currently bedbound and nonverbal, she thrives in an environment filled with conversation and compassionate presence.

The Role

You will work alongside her mother in a supportive 2:1 care environment to ensure her comfort, safety, and dignity. This is a nurse-delegated position; you will receive comprehensive, paid training on all specific medical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medical Support: Monitoring vitals with high vigilance and assisting with trach clearing and feeding tube management.
• Daily Living: Assisting with in-bed positioning and hygiene/changing.
• Companionship: Providing meaningful engagement and "talking through" the day with her, even though she may not respond.

What We’re Looking For

• Heart & Mind: Someone who is naturally compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented regarding medical changes.
• Communication: Comfort engaging in one-sided conversation to provide a sense of connection.
• Reliability: Because public transit is limited in the Banks area, reliable personal transportation is required.
• Experience: While medical experience is not required, we highly prefer candidates with CNA or medical caregiving backgrounds.
