Caregiver - Now Hiring Med Tech, Med Asst and EMTs

Home Instead is looking for caring and compassionate Med Techs, Med Assistants and EMTs to become caregivers and become a part of our team, joining our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

• Pay: $12.00 per hour subject to successful completion of our caregiver training program

Caregiver duties include, but are not limited to:

• Companionship and conversation
• Stabilization and assistance with walking
• Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
• Medication and appointment reminders
• Running errands and providing transportation
• Accompanying clients to appointments
• Assistance with grooming and bathing
• Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
• Alzheimer’s Care

Caregiver requirements:

• MUST have a minimum of 6-months as a Med Tech, Med Assistant or EMT
• MUST be willing to be trained in hands on caregiving and bedbound skills including the following: repositioning the client, doing skin checks, changing the client, changing sheets with the client in bed, giving bed baths and using DME equipment such as Hoyer lifts and gait belts
• Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
• Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
• Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
• Possess a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
