Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Caregiver/ MedTech, where you will play a vital role in ensuring safe and accurate medication administration to residents. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with nursing staff, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, precise care. As a Caregiver, you will be at the forefront of supporting residents helping improve their quality of life through attentive medication management and patient support.
<Duties>
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications to residents or patients in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
- Document all medication activities accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient responses to medications, reporting any adverse reactions or concerns promptly to nursing staff.
- Assist with medication refills, inventory management, and proper storage to maintain safety and compliance.
- Provide compassionate care by supporting residents with activities of daily living
- Maintain detailed medical records, including medication logs, medical terminology documentation, and updates on patient condition changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams involved in senior care, hospice care, dementia care, and memory care.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols related to medication administration and patient care procedures.
- Support the training of new staff members
<Requirements>
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration procedures.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical records management is essential for maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Strong caregiving skills with experience in Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care or hospice environments preferred.
- Certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential is required; ongoing training in medical documentation and pharmacy procedures is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks including assisting with mobility.
- Knowledge and experience working with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
