Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. This vital role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing quality of life through personalized care. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
• Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary
• Support clients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence
• Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare standards
• Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers and mobility assistance

Requirements

• Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes setting
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia care are a plus
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia is highly desirable
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and support
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred for community outings or appointments
