Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Job Summary

I am seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to individuals with varying needs, including those requiring senior care, disability assistance, or specialized medical attention. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, health monitoring, and personal care in a home or community setting. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through attentive caregiving and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and overall health status in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs tailored to individual care plans.
• Provide patient observation and ensure safety during activities, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts.
• Administer medications accurately and document care activities following prescribed protocols.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• Assist with mobility using appropriate techniques and equipment for heavy lifting or transfers.
• Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through memory care strategies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
• Engage in social activities to promote mental well-being and community engagement for clients.

Experience

Candidates should possess relevant experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia is highly desirable. Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are preferred; familiarity with HIPAA compliance is essential. Experience in patient monitoring, medication administration, hospice or home health care, and social work is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate patience, empathy, excellent observation skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting safely when required. Pay: $23.80 - $44.00 per hour
