Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant/Homemaker - now hiring in Orofino!

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence in a respectful and caring manner. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients, supporting their health, well-being, and overall quality of life within home and community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior, documenting observations accurately
  • Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with healthcare protocols
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
  • Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
  • Assist with vital signs monitoring, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates
  • Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or developmental disabilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards during patient care activities

Requirements

  • Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care preferred; group home experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of patient care techniques including first aid, CPR, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or dementia
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts safely
  • Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assessment
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Valid certifications in CPR and first aid required; additional certifications in nursing or social work are advantageous
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality following HIPAA regulations
  • Compassionate attitude with patience for working with seniors or individuals with complex care needs
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; experience in home & community care highly desirable
