The Ryan White Part A Program is a federally funded program that funds and provides medical and supportive services for people living with HIV and AIDS. The program consists of two major components: the Planning Council and Grantee Administration. The Planning Council determines the services needed and the amount of funding dedicated to each service. The Grantee's Office is responsible for program administration.

The CAREWare Database Coordinator will manage Ryan White Part A Program data management system; CAREWare. This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing data, interpreting and tracking trends, and preparing reports presentations while ensuring accuracy, integrity, security, and consistency of data. The Database Coordinator will also identify and resolve data-related issues, discrepancies and concerts and provide training to new and existing Part A subrecipients.


Department Hiring Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000


Essential Functions

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and maintain the Norfolk TGA RWPA CAREWare data system
  • Responsible for CAREWare database development and maintenance to ensure Ryan White data reporting requirements are met.
  • Administer the CAREWare database, including creating user accounts, managing data entry, deleting duplicating clients, troubleshooting problems
  • Recommend system-wide improvements for CAREWare
  • Prepare service-specific custom data reports as needed by the Recipient, CQM, Planning Council and other Stakeholders as necessary
  • Will develop and implement methodologies to enable local providers meet data reporting requirements.
  • Provide CQM data-related technical assistance
  • Reviews subrecipients Ryan White Services Reports (RSR) to ensure data completeness
  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to Ryan White Part A subrecipients to ensure that their data collection and reporting mechanisms are in compliance with data reporting needs.
  • Design procedures for the collection and evaluation of data.

Education/Experience

Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with a two-year associate's degree, diploma or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school or equivalent experience. Concentration in Information Technology, Public Health, Statistics, or related area of study preferred.

Two years of relevant experience in health, social, or community-based organizations serving indigent populations.

Must possess proficient computer skills to operate business software, including Microsoft Office products.

Experience with CAREWare is a plus.
