As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways Cargo Team in Doha as Cargo Inventory Management Specialist.

About the role

In this role you will lead RM strategies in Cargo Inventory Management Team on QR network and ensure execution and completion.
Perform analysis on network results and take necessary initiatives in order to stimulate optimization improvement utilizing both commercial and operational opportunities.
The role requires for you to be on roster duty to support the 24*7 operations of the department.

Other additional responsibilities are inclusive but not limited to the following:

  • Organize and execute the communication towards commercial organization in order to maximize revenue contribution to the network and improve profitability.
  • Responsible for implementation of RM strategies for the region, managing and reporting back on compliance to strategies implemented, communicating execution of all strategies and results obtained effectively to Cargo Inventory Management Manager for review and further changes if any.
  • Examine profiling of flights, daily booking trends, overbooking levels, entry condition levels and backlog to measure if current capacity & inventory control strategies are implemented and suggest changes to Cargo Inventory Management Manager.
  • Act as the point of escalation with the Commercial and operational departments regarding rejected bookings, delay in response as per agreed SLA, ULD requests and excess mail on free sales.
  • Ensure appropriate sales steering messages are communicated to the network of their routes. Push for more cargo when loads are low, advice stations of backlog situations and operational constraints (payload, etc.)
  • Provide inputs to Cargo Inventory Planning Team on long term optimization process (seasonal allotment planning). Communicate information on route constraints, opportunities and operational constraints in order to take effective decision on allotment requests in accordance with network level strategy.
  • Provide inputs to Cargo Inventory Analytics team for structural and Ad-hoc modification to thresholds (entry conditions). Communicate information on demand, route constraints and future outlook.
  • Manage interface with Network Planning Team by acting as point of contact on Ad-hoc and structural schedule changes, revenue projections and issues related to long term or ad-hoc charter flights.
  • Utilize advance analytical tools and techniques to analyze large datasets related to bookings, load factors, market dynamics and other important data related to the business.
  • Organize and manage interface with Sales organization: Send flight dashboard to alert on short-term opportunities (sales steering). Identify potential new flows with high contribution. For flows currently on board: secure flows with highest contribution and assess flows with lowest contribution.
  • Coach the newly joined Cargo colleagues to follow a network-based approach in order to optimize the network margin as opposed to individual flight legs and to ensure a high standard of service delivery. Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

About you

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s and 4 years of job-related experience
  • Specialization in Pricing or Revenue Management
  • Experience in Cargo sales, revenue management and/or pricing operations or network planning
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced problem-solving capabilities
  • Advanced MS office skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Analytical skills – Tableau, Power BI etc.
