Carpenter

Manama, Bahrain

The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out carpentry, woodwork, and repair tasks within the property to maintain the highest standards of safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction. This role involves working closely with the engineering/maintenance team to ensure all wooden structures, furniture, fittings, and fixtures are well-maintained, repaired, and presented to support smooth hotel/resort operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden furniture, fixtures, fittings, partitions, doors, and other wood-related items.
  • Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, and back-of-house areas to identify and address carpentry-related issues.
  • Repair and refurbish wooden furniture (tables, chairs, cabinets, wardrobes, beds, etc.) to maintain quality standards.
  • Assist in renovation and refurbishment projects within the property.
  • Safely operate carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment in accordance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering/maintenance team on preventive maintenance programs.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff repair requests, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Maintain an organized workshop and manage carpentry materials and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with property safety and hygiene policies.

  • Knowledge of Safety Standards – Following workplace safety guidelines and proper handling of tools.
  • Compliance with Fire & Building Codes – Ensuring carpentry work aligns with hospitality regulations.
  • Material Knowledge – Using durable, sustainable, and guest-safe materials.
  • Attention to Detail – Ensuring precision in measurements, alignments, and finishes.
  • Problem-Solving – Diagnosing issues with furniture or fittings and finding practical, lasting solutions.
  • Communication – Coordinating with housekeeping, engineering, and front office teams for smooth operations.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability – Handling urgent repair requests, often at odd hours.
  • Teamwork – Collaborating with other maintenance staff, designers, and contractors.

Key Qualities & Skills Required:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter, preferably in the hospitality or facilities maintenance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, finishing, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • Good understanding of safety protocols and maintenance standards.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with good communication skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training in carpentry preferred).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in carpentry or maintenance work (hospitality experience is an advantage).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to BD220.000 per month
