Job Purpose:
Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of wooden structures, furniture, doors, partitions, and other fixtures within company-managed facilities. Ensures all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general carpentry work such as cutting, shaping, assembling, repairing, and installing wooden structures, doors, furniture, cabinets, and partitions.
- Perform repair and maintenance of wooden doors, locks, hinges, door closers, and handles.
- Install shelves, skirting, panels, and ceiling frames as required.
- Ensure proper fitting, alignment, and finishing of all wooden components.
- Assist in measuring, marking, and arranging materials for specific tasks.
- Coordinate with other maintenance staff (plumbing, electrical, painting) to support multi-trade maintenance operations.
- Inspect and identify damaged or deteriorated woodwork and recommend repair or replacement.
- Follow all safety standards and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Support emergency maintenance requests and respond promptly to maintenance calls.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Secondary school or equivalent; vocational or technical certificate in Carpentry preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of carpentry experience in building maintenance or facility management.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of woodworking tools, machines, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or sketches.
- Skilled in measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing wood products.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
