Carpenter

Job Purpose:

Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of wooden structures, furniture, doors, partitions, and other fixtures within company-managed facilities. Ensures all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general carpentry work such as cutting, shaping, assembling, repairing, and installing wooden structures, doors, furniture, cabinets, and partitions.
• Perform repair and maintenance of wooden doors, locks, hinges, door closers, and handles.
• Install shelves, skirting, panels, and ceiling frames as required.
• Ensure proper fitting, alignment, and finishing of all wooden components.
• Assist in measuring, marking, and arranging materials for specific tasks.
• Coordinate with other maintenance staff (plumbing, electrical, painting) to support multi-trade maintenance operations.
• Inspect and identify damaged or deteriorated woodwork and recommend repair or replacement.
• Follow all safety standards and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Support emergency maintenance requests and respond promptly to maintenance calls.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Secondary school or equivalent; vocational or technical certificate in Carpentry preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of carpentry experience in building maintenance or facility management.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of woodworking tools, machines, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or sketches.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing wood products.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
