Carpenter

A Finishing Carpenter is responsible for completing high-quality interior woodwork and detailed finishing tasks in residential, commercial, or fit-out projects. The role focuses on precision, aesthetics, and final installation work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work, including cabinetry, false ceiling and other works related to gypsum. Incumbents work from reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures. Pays special attention to costs, ensures most cost effective solutions.
• Assuring compliance with relevant health, safety and environment codes.
• Designing, constructing, remodeling, retrofitting and repairing interior and exterior structures made of wood and similar synthetic material, drywall, selecting appropriate materials and equipment for job completion.
• Designing, constructing, retrofitting, and repairing cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, door and window frames, and other types of furniture with attention to details. May install and repair modular furniture.
• Plan, organize and lay out assigned tasks; draw rough sketches, plans and working drawings of construction jobs.
• Cleaning, maintaining, adjusting, calibrating and servicing carpentry equipment used in the performance of duties.
• Cleaning up work area: consists of picking up used tarps, tools and materials and then storing equipment/tools in designated storage area.
• Assisting in the performance of other special duties and projects as needed in support of organizational goals.
• Contribute to selecting needed additional machinery assets and power tools that allows the work to continue with best efficiency.

Requirements:

• High School graduate and previous experience in a similar field.
• Excellent carpentry and wood work skills.
• Minimum of 5 years or more in joinery workshop.
• Technical ability and knowledge of carpentry, wood and similar synthetic material work equipment
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
