A Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining wooden and other structural components in residential, commercial, or industrial projects. The role requires measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials according to specifications and building codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, or other materials.
• Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
• Install structures and fixtures such as windows, cabinets, stairs, and trim.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or structures.
• Ensure work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines.
• Estimate materials and project timelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a carpenter.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
• Proficiency in using electrical and manual tools.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training preferred).

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor construction sites.
• May require lifting heavy materials.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• May require overtime and weekend work depending on project deadlines.

Preferred Certifications (Optional)

• Trade certification in Carpentry.
• OSHA safety training certification.
