Carpenter / Joinery

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Carpenter / Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining wooden structures and fixtures. This includes furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, partitions, and other wood-based fittings as required for projects or maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood and wood substitutes according to specifications.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical plans to determine job requirements.
• Install and repair wooden structures such as doors, windows, frames, flooring, and furniture.
• Carry out fitting and finishing work such as sanding, polishing, varnishing, and painting.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop area in good working condition.
• Ensure quality craftsmanship and attention to detail in all tasks.
• Work collaboratively with other maintenance or construction team members to complete projects efficiently.
• Follow health and safety standards at all times.
• Perform on-site carpentry or joinery work as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner.
• Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
• Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality finish.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certificate or diploma in carpentry or joinery (preferred).
• Experience in residential, commercial, or fit-out projects.
• Basic knowledge of other finishing trades is a plus.
