Job Summary
The Carpenter / Painter is responsible for carrying out carpentry and painting works across the hotel to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained to high safety, quality, and aesthetic standards. The role supports smooth hotel operations by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and renovations in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry works including repairs to doors, furniture, wardrobes, cabinets, wooden fixtures, and fittings.
- Perform painting and polishing works for guest rooms, public areas, offices, and staff accommodation as required.
- Prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and priming).
- Ensure paint color matching and finishing meet hotel standards.
- Attend maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly to minimize guest inconvenience.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support minor civil works such as patch repairs, tile replacement, and basic finishing.
- Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Follow hotel safety standards, SOPs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with engineering and housekeeping teams to plan work with minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain records of work completed and materials used.
Requirement
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Carpenter and/or Painter, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Technical training or trade certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of materials, tools, and safety practices related to carpentry and painting.
- Comfortable using ladders and scaffolding
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand, air, and power tools
