Carpet Warehouse Manager

Job Title: Warehouse Manager – Carpets

Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager – Carpets is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations related to carpets and rugs, ensuring proper storage, inventory accuracy, quality protection, and timely dispatch to showrooms and customers. The role involves managing staff, coordinating logistics, maintaining quality standards, and supporting sales and procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily carpet warehouse operations.
  • Ensure safe and proper handling, rolling, stacking, and storage of carpets and rugs.
  • Manage warehouse layout to optimize space utilization and easy access by size, design, and material.
  • Oversee loading and unloading of containers and local deliveries.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records by design, size, color, quality, material, and origin.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical stock audits.
  • Analyze slow-moving, damaged, or obsolete stock and report to management.

Quality Control

  • Ensure carpets are protected from dust, moisture, sunlight, and pests.
  • Inspect incoming and stored carpets for stains, fading, tears, or defects.
  • Manage damage reports, insurance claims, and supplier complaints when required.

Dispatch & Logistics

  • Coordinate showroom replenishment and customer deliveries.
  • Ensure correct packing, labeling, and documentation for all shipments.
  • Work closely with transporters and freight forwarders for local and export deliveries.
  • Monitor delivery timelines and resolve dispatch issues.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Manage warehouse officers, storekeepers, helpers, and laborers.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure productivity.
  • Train staff on carpet handling techniques, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Enforce discipline, attendance, and compliance with company policies.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards and labor regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and operational reports.
  • Coordinate with procurement on incoming shipments and space planning.
  • Support sales teams with real-time stock availability and order fulfillment.
  • Work with finance on stock valuation and cost control.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of carpet and rug warehousing operations.
  • Expertise in inventory management and warehouse systems (ERP/WMS).
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in carpet, textile, or home furnishing warehouse management.
  • UAE/GCC experience preferred.
