Case Manager

We are hiring: Case Manager for Alpha House
Starting wage: $20.00-$25.00/hour, DOE
Job type: Full-time, Non-exempt
Schedule
  • Standard Hours: Shifts can be 5 8s or 4 10s, after a standard training period. Will include 2 evening shifts until 8pm, or 1 regular weekend shift.
  • Details of schedules will be discussed in an interview process; rotation of 1 weekend day every 7 weeks is expected
Training
  • Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.
What Skills do you need?
To succeed as a Case Manager, we require:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
    • Associate degree and equivalent experience will be considered.
    • 5 years in corrections, case management, or closely related work field, may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to relate to residents in a firm, empathetic manner.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with documentation and record keeping.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Ability to pass drug test, including federally prohibited substances
What will you do in this position?
As a Case Manager, you'll play a crucial role in preparing residents for their successful reentry into the community. You'll provide support and guidance, ensuring that their criminogenic risks, needs, and responsivity are addressed through individualized program plans. From conducting initial risk assessments and developing rapport with residents to providing thorough program orientations and ensuring compliance, your role is dynamic and impactful. You'll assist residents in creating effective release plans, conduct random room visits, and perform weekly medication audits. Accurate documentation and active participation in quality assurance and training activities are also key aspects of your job. Additionally, you'll use cognitive behavioral tools to deliver evidence-based interventions, reinforce positive behavior, and model pro-social behavior. Reporting significant developments to your supervisors promptly is essential to maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the program.
About the team
The Alpha House Case Management team is run by an experienced Program Supervisor who has a passion for corrections, and recently completed a Master’s in Criminal Justice with an emphasis on corrections and rehabilitation. She has been with the Agency for over 10 years and oversees daily programming operations for our men’s pre-release program.
You will be joining a team of about 10 other Case Managers, an Employment Placement Specialist, and other stellar teams who are focused on cognitive behavioral change and making a difference in the community!

PTO

  • Increased Accrual with Tenure: Accrual rates increase at 3 years, 5 years, and every subsequent 5-year mark, up to 25+ years.
  • Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.
Paid Holidays
