Pay: Starting at $22/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Part-Time, 15–25 hours per week (full-time work may become available)

Help Young People Build Independent Futures

Cascade Youth & Family Center (CYFC), a program of J Bar J Youth Services, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Case Manager to support youth and young adults transitioning out of foster care. In this role, you will work with participants ages 14–24 to develop essential life skills and create pathways toward independence, stability, and success.

As a Case Manager in our Independent Living Program (ILP), you will mentor and guide young people as they build skills in areas such as budgeting, employment readiness, education planning, housing, wellness, and community engagement. What You’ll Do

  • Provide life skills coaching and case management to current and former foster youth ages 14–24.
  • Conduct program orientations and assessments and help participants develop personalized Transition Plans for independence.
  • Support youth in building skills related to:
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Employment and career development
  • Education and post-secondary planning
  • Housing and home management
  • Health, well-being, and community connections
  • Meet monthly or bi-monthly one-on-one with participants to track progress toward goals.
  • Facilitate group activities, workshops, and experiential learning opportunities in collaboration with community partners.
  • Connect participants with local resources, services, and opportunities that support their success.
  • Collaborate with Department of Human Services (DHS) and other agencies to coordinate services.
  • Prepare monthly service reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Travel throughout Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson Counties to meet with youth and host activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and statewide ILP events such as the Teen Retreat and Dream Conference.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with youth and young adults (ages 14–24)
  • Experience fostering a supportive, goal-oriented environment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Ability to connect youth with community resources and support networks
  • Knowledge of (or willingness to learn):
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Positive youth development
  • Youth development curricula
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with computers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Human Services, or related field
  • 1+ year of experience working with at-risk youth or similar populations
