Position Overview

Alijah House Children’s Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate Caseworker to support youth in our General Residential Operation (GRO).

This role works directly with children and adolescents who have mental health and behavioral needs, requiring a trauma-informed, structured, and consistent approach.

The Caseworker will ensure quality care and services while maintaining compliance with Texas Minimum Standards, and implementing both the Together Facing the Challenge (TFC) model and Texas Child-Centered Care (T3C)framework.

What You’ll Do (Simple Breakdown)Work Directly with Youth

  • Meet with youth monthly (face-to-face)
  • Support youth with emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges
  • Use trauma-informed care, TFC, and T3C strategies daily
  • Help youth build coping skills and meet service plan goals

Manage Casework & Documentation

  • Complete:
  • Monthly case notes
  • Service plans
  • Discharge summaries
  • Keep all files updated, organized, and audit-ready
  • Maintain documentation in Casebook and internal systems

Coordinate Services

  • Schedule and monitor:
  • Therapy
  • Medical and psychiatric appointments
  • Advocate for youth in school (IEP/504 support)
  • Communicate with CPS/DFPS, families, and providers

Ensure Compliance

  • Follow all Texas GRO Minimum Standards
  • Meet all deadlines and documentation expectations
  • Maintain daily organization and task tracking

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in case management, foster care, or residential treatment
  • Experience working with children with mental health and behavioral challenges
  • Strong knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards
  • Experience with TFC (Together Facing the Challenge) and/or T3C (Texas Child-Centered Care) preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field (preferred)
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required
  • ONE MANDATORY WEEKEND A MONTH

Pay: $50,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
