The Cashier is responsible for efficiently processing customer payments and transactions while providing a high level of customer service. This job is responsible for handling various types of payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate cash records. The Cashier serves as a key customer-facing role within the dealership, ensuring smooth financial transactions and addressing any customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities

Handle all customer payments, including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and electronic transfers, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

Process sales and service transactions using the dealership's management software in accordance with group procedures.

Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers with accuracy.

Greet customers warmly, ensuring they feel welcome and assisted throughout their visit.

Address customer inquiries about dealership services, promotions, and financial transactions.

Resolve any customer complaints promptly or escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate department for resolution.

Ensure customers are provided with an exceptional experience and always maintain a customer centric attitude.

Count cash drawers at the start and end of each shift, ensuring all funds are accurately accounted for.

Balance cash, check, and credit card transactions at the end of each shift and ensure any discrepancies are reported and resolved.

Prepare and make daily bank deposits when required, ensuring accurate reporting of all funds handled.

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, ensuring they are properly documented for auditing purposes.

Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial summaries and reports as needed by the finance team.

Ensure compliance with all cash handling policies, procedures, and dealership guidelines to protect the company's financial integrity.

Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Support other departments within the dealership, such as sales, service, and parts, by providing financial or transactional assistance when needed.

Follow all dealership policies and procedures regarding cash handling, customer interactions, and transaction recording.

Ensure the security of cash, credit card information, and personal customer data always.

Report any suspicious activities, discrepancies, or security concerns to the Chief Cashier or supervisor.

Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and workshops to stay updated on dealership policies, financial procedures, and customer service best practices.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilise sound judgment in decision making.

Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.
Minimum required experience

A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in cashiering or a related role is required.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
